Heartlands Young Republicans (“Heartlands YR” or “HYR”) is a regional Young Republican club serving DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands and Okeechobee Counties, Florida. We are chartered under the Florida Young Republicans (FLYR) and affiliated with the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF), the oldest political youth organization in the United States.
Our Mission
We encourage fellowship, civic education, service, responsible political participation and the development of future Republican leadership. In short: we Recruit young conservatives, Train them to lead, and Elect Republicans up and down the ballot.
How We Are Organized
Heartlands YR operates as a single regional organization with one membership and one Executive Board of four elected officers — President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary — serving two-year terms. We hold at least four general membership meetings each year, always with a live online option, so a member in Okeechobee can participate just as fully as a member in Sebring.
Who Can Join
- Active Members — ages 18 to 40, registered Republicans, U.S. citizens, nationals or lawful permanent residents. Active members vote and may hold office.
- Associate Members — friends and supporters who do not meet Active criteria. Associates participate in everything but voting and office.
Annual dues are $25 for all members.
